All activities not expressly mentioned in the scope of work, but involved in carrying out their intent are required and the contractor shall perform the same as though they were specifically mentioned, described, and delineated. Develop a MUTCD compliant temporary work zone constructed in the east bound lane of Route 57 for a distance adequate to allow work to be completed. This should include pre-cast concrete Jersey barriers topped with chain-link fencing, TTC signals programed in accordance with MassDOT/MUTCD specifications, and all appropriate MUTCD signage. Collaborate with local DPW to secure traffic control officers during working hours to assist with machinery moving into and out of the work zone or stopping traffic at times of increased site hazards. The Town of Granville will cover the cost of traffic control officers. Install all necessary worksite shielding, including protection of the blacktop road surface from heavy equipment, falling rock, and transporting rock across road. Remove any guardrail and/or road signs necessary to complete the project. Remove the subject rock from its suspended position. Additional rock that is disrupted and becomes unstable in the removal process shall also be removed. Additional rock, or significant complications in removing additional rock may be considered, however, additional work required beyond the main rock removal must be reviewed and preapproved by the Granville DPW.
