Conversion of an office building into a municipal shelter that will provide services and support to help Indigenous people experiencing homelessness; anticipated capacity of approx. 80 people. The building will provide 24/7 staffing and security, meals, laundry facilities, on-site medical care, and cultural programming. TIMELINE: Project planning is underway. Site has been purchased by the city. The city is not commenting on the design selection details or timelines at this time. Construction timing has not yet been finalized and will be confirmed as the project progresses. Current estimated opening date is 2028-2029.
