Norfolk County is seeking bids for the replacement of one stationary 6000 psi Mako breathing air compressor module and components, one Mako air storage system or equivalent, and one self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) recharging system (fill station) at Simcoe Fire Station #1. The scope of work includes removing and disposing of the existing units, supplying and installing new specified units with minimum technical requirements, and ensuring the system is functional and compliant with all codes and standards. The contractor is responsible for testing, commissioning, certification, training Norfolk County Fire Department staff on operation and maintenance, and providing operational and maintenance manuals. All equipment is to be installed at the same time, with completion expected by the specified date, and all work must maintain the warranty of existing components. The successful bidder must coordinate with necessary trades, obtain permits, and ensure inspections by regulatory bodies. Bidders must provide all requested forms, comply with the submission requirements, provide all-inclusive pricing, reference similar past projects, and submit necessary supporting documentation through the electronic Bidding System. All communication must go through the designated IRFT contact, and bids must be submitted electronically. Bidders must provide evidence of experience, ability, and capacity if requested, and may be required to submit a list of proposed subcontractors. The successful bidder must provide proof of insurance, WSIB clearance, performance security, and health and safety policy prior to starting work. Bidders are responsible for examining the site and all specifications prior to bidding, and for all risks and obligations under the contract. Norfolk County reserves the right to accept approved equivalents to specified products, at its discretion, and to request further information, clarification, or alternative products as needed.
