Sealed bids are requested for the construction of port improvements to the City Docks Multiuse Transloading Facility located in Calcasieu Parish. Type of construction is heavy construction. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Contracting Agency and prepared in accordance with Section 2 of the 2018 Edition of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Office of Multimodal Commerce, General Provisions. All information required by the bid form must be included. Bid forms are available from the Engineer and will not be issued later than 24 hours prior to the time set for opening bids. Each bid must include a proposal guaranty of 5% of the amount of the bid. Contract Documents may also be downloaded at www.bidexpress.com. Plans and specifications may be seen at the Engineer's office or obtained from the District upon payment. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination. Disadvantaged businesses will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids. The award will be made to the lowest qualified bidder whose proposal complies with all requirements within 45 calendar days after opening proposals, with provisions outlined for projects financed by bonds, federal, or state funds. The right is reserved to reject bids and waive informalities. The relevant legal provisions and requirements in the Bidding Documents and LA R.S. 382212 apply and cannot be waived.
