Work includes: o Demolish and remove existing steel flue system(s), including crane removal through the roof o Furnish and install a new double-wall special gas vent system from each boiler to the roof o Vent assembly shall be pre-fabricated, then crane-lifted into place through the existing roof opening o Provide all connections, supports, bracing, and apprehensions necessary for a complete and operational installation 3.3.Boiler Sequencing Requirements (Continuity of Operations): This project must be completed in a phased approach to ensure building heat/hot water service is maintained. Boiler #1 Scope (Phase 1) The contractor shall: o Take Boiler #1 offline first o Remove existing piping associated with Boiler #1 venting connection o Install new ducting/venting components as required for Boiler #1 o Ensure the building water temperature is maintained throughout the process o Boiler #1 must be restored to full operational status before any work begins on Boiler #2Boiler #2 Scope (Phase 2) After Boiler #1 is fully operational, the contractor shall: o Take Boiler #2 offline only after Boiler #1 is fully operational o Install two (2) new 45 elbows o Increase the vertical rise to improve clearance and overall appearance o Remove Boiler #2 flue via crane o Install indoor flue sections up to the offset using ladders o Final vertical section shall be lowered in by crane o Furnish and install new guide wires from the concrete roof structure to the flue piping for stabilization o Furnish and install two (2) new rain caps at the termination point, 15 feet above the finished roof
