The work consists of providing all labor, equipment, fees, permits, and related costs necessary for the replacement of approximately 15,000 linear feet per year of 6 to 12-inch water main, including service reconnections and renewals, replacement of associated appurtenances, and temporary paved and unpaved restoration. The project will take place in all MDC Member and Non Member Towns in the State of Connecticut. Bidders are directed to Section 01010 Summary of Work for further details. Bidders must register and download the Bidding Documents from the designated website. All official notifications, Addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through this website. Bidders may examine documents by making an appointment with the District Clerk's Office. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held, and bids will not be accepted from those not in attendance. Each bid must follow Instructions to Bidders in the documents and include a Bid Security of 10 percent of the bid amount. Bidders must hold a current DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate in Water and Sewer Lines from the Department of Administrative Services of the State of Connecticut and submit the certificate and an Update Statement with their bid. Named subcontractors with subcontracts valued at or above $1,000,000 must also hold the appropriate DAS Contractor Prequalification Certificate, with copies submitted as part of the bid. These certificates must be kept current for the duration of the contract and any warranty period.
