Question Deadline 02/13/2026- Requests for interpretation of drawings and specifications must be made in writing to the Consultant not later than five (5) days prior to the date set for receipt of the proposals. The work generally consists of minor demolition and construction of a warehouse facility within the walls of an existing building. In addition, a remote room will have a wall constructed and the roof deck sprayed with insulation followed by general clean-up of the area. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond made payable to the Columbia County School District in the amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the lump sum bid for the complete work. If awarded the contract, the successful bidder will be required to promptly enter into a contract agreement and furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bonds must be executed by a surety company licensed in the State of Georgia, listed in the Department of the Treasury Circular 570, with an A. M. Best Company rating of AAA and a financial size of IV (4) or better, and be accompanied by a letter stating the bonding compan'ys current rating. A certified copy of the Power of Attorney for the attorney-in-fact executing the bonds must be attached. Contractors must submit a completed "Statement of Bidders Qualifications Form" with the bid. Bidders are required to have prior roofing experience on similar school projects or comparable projects of similar content, scope, and difficulty. The owner reserves the right to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the owner and to accept or to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. Any objections to the bid documents or specifications should be filed in writing prior to the bid opening date. Sealed bids must be submitted in an envelope marked "BID ENCLOSED."
