At WEWPCC, the work consists of isolating one of the three sludge holding tanks at a time, coordinating with plant staff, and for each tank: scaffolding and formwork as required; selective demolition of surface concrete; cleaning; replacing process pipe penetrations and adding new 200mm penetrations for temporary ventilation; structural upgrades including concrete and rebar installation; instrumentation replacement; surface preparation of the tank interior and pipe penetrations with application of a protective liner by a certified applicator; curing controls for concrete repairs and liner; replacement of steel mud baskets and installation of a new stainless-steel pipe for the middle tank; surface preparation and application of a fast-curing polyurethane cement floor coat on the top slab to minimize truck loading delays; coordination with the Contract Administrator, Plant Staff, and Wintec; implementation of confined space safety controls; responsibility for site safety and accommodating inspections; and redline as-built markups. Scope includes: scaffolding, shoring, and formwork; selective demolition of concrete tanks; demolition of the masonry block room above the tanks with equipment salvage and coordination of equipment relocation; salvaging equipment and instrumentation for re-installation; cleaning tanks; replacing process pipe and ventilation duct penetrations; replacement hatches and removal of ladders; structural upgrades and concrete/rebar installation; surface preparation and protective liner application by a certified applicator; curing controls; coordination with Contract Administrator, Plant Staff, and Wintec; implementation of confined space protocols; reconstruction of the masonry room and reinstallation of all equipment; reinstallation of salvaged equipment and instrumentation; responsibility for site safety and inspections; mechanical HVAC upgrades; surface preparation and application of a polyurethane cement floor coat on the top slab. Special conditions include debris control, following construction sequence as shown on drawings to maintain structural integrity, and installation of protective barriers during certain rehabilitation stages.
