Renovation of an educational facility in Springfield, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of February 11, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on February 17, 2026. Generally, the work includes removal and disposal of asbestos-containing floor tile, mastic, windows, caulking, ductwork, roofing, and miscellaneous materials in accordance with all federal and state rules and regulations for abatement in public and private schools. Bids shall include: 1. Properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate. 2. Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of Bid. 3. Not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes. 4. Information for minority owned businesses which will perform at least a percentage of the work specified in the project and the proposal dollar value of the work. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of public contract statutes. Certification is located in the Proposal Form, Section 00300, of this Project Manual. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond or cashiers check in the amount of 10% of Bid, made payable to the Springfield School District #186. Failure to submit this will be cause for rejection of bid. Successful Bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance by Owner. Surety on the bond must be by a U. S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in Illinois and acceptable to Owner. Bidders are required to be signatory to the Project Labor Agreement (PLA) between the Springfield School District #186 and the Central Illinois Building and Construction Trades Council. The Board of Education for Springfield School District #186 reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity in bidding. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening without written consent of the Owner.
