Generally, the work may be described as follows: Roof, Door, Storefront, Glass, Boiler, and Water Heater replacements, and associated modifications at the SEDOL Administration Building, Cyd Lash Academy, Fairhaven School, Gages Lake School, and John Powers Center in Lake County, Illinois. Bids will be received for the General Contract (all trades). Qualified bidders may submit bids for the project as described. Bids must be prepared in compliance with the provided instructions. Bid security in the form of cash, certified check, or bid bond made payable to the Owner shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10 percent of the aggregate bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for seventy-five days after opening. The successful bidder shall provide Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the bid amount. Bidders must be properly licensed and able to obtain the insurance and bonds required. The successful bidder shall pay not less than the prevailing rates of wages as ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor and submit certified payroll records in compliance with the Prevailing Wage Act. Insurance must be furnished in the form and amounts required, including indemnity to the Owner and Architect against claims arising from negligence during construction until final acceptance of the improvements. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informalities at its discretion.
