The manufacturing and installation of the climbing boulders in the nature playscape at MEP will be part of a larger project that will include the construction of additional walking paths, site grading modifications, and the installation of a new parking area. The majority of the project will be completed prior to the climbing boulders being installed, including preparing the concrete foundations where the boulders will be placed. Clear access to the bouldering site for delivery and crane services will be ensured. a. Boulder Specifications There should be five (5), with approximately 1,000 to 1,250 square feet of total surface area, made up of the following mix of sizes, one (1) large approximately 500 SF, one (1) medium approximately 350 SF, one (1) small approximately 200 SF, and two (2) extra small approximately 50-100 SF each. The boulder structures should provide both natural hand holds and manufacture climbing wall holds. The large, medium, and small should have the option to add manufacture hand holds. Features should be approachable by novice and intermediate skilled climbers. A natural look is desired in granite or basalt color finish. b. Services Requested Proposals should include cost of manufacturing, shipping, and onsite installation. Thirty (30) days before the shipping date, the Contractor shall submit a schedule to the City. This schedule shall outline the shipping, arrival, and installation timeline. The Recreation and Natural Resources Manager will coordinate local resources. c. Services Provided The City will provide clear site access, site preparation including preparing concrete foundations, arrange for crane services on day of installation, and complete finishing work in fall zone including providing materials and installation. d. Preconstruction Meeting Following the award of the Contract, the Recreation and Natural Resources Manager will set up a meeting to review the project and timeline. The Contractor shall provide a copy of Workman's Compensation Certificate and Proof of Liability Insurance. All contractors and subcontractors must comply with the prevailing wage rates established by the State of Ohio Division of Labor and Worker Safety Wage and Hour Bureau, and to all EEO requirements.
