For purchases between $2,500 and $50,000, the City Manager has the authority to approve and purchases between $50,001 and $79,567 shall be presented and approved by City Commission at a regularly scheduled meeting. SPECIFICATIONS: The following contract items shall be bid and completed in accordance with the most recent version of the State of Ohio, Department of Transportation, Construction and Materials Specifications and in conformity with plans, special provisions, the proposal, ODOT standard construction drawings and City Standards. Concrete shall be placed in all cases to ensure positive drainage of water to the adjacent grass areas or consistent with the slope of the driveway if within a drive apron. Not all specifications may apply to this work but are provided as a reference. ITEM NO. DESCRIPTION 202 CONCRETE REMOVAL: This item is paid only in areas where concrete is removed and no new concrete replaces it. Payment for this item shall include backfilling the resultant excavation entirely with topsoil (653) and the necessary grading to provide level even terrain with positive drainage. No separate payment will be made for this item. Concrete removal shall be incidental to all 608 and 609 (walk, drive and curb) concrete items. 452 NON-REINFORCED PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE PAVEMENT: The Contractor shall be responsible for setting necessary forms, furnishing and placing dowels if needed, placement and finishing of concrete, necessary sawing of joints and maintenance of traffic during the curing of the concrete. The Contractor shall be responsible for excavation of the existing pavement, placement and compaction of the aggregate base and the cost of furnishing the Class QC 1 Concrete. The work involved consists of the replacement of several sections of concrete pavement throughout the City of Sandusky. 608 4” PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALK: Concrete shall be in place with sawed or tooled joints and includes: removal and disposal of existing walk; any and all excavation necessary, including removal of tree roots to a depth of 6" below the bottom of sidewalk; a minimum of 3" of No. 411 compacted aggregate base below new sidewalk; backfilling the edges of the walk with compacted topsoil (653) and installation of 4" x 1/4 " pre-molded expansion joint in place as directed. Where required, signs, garbage cans, benches, personal property, etc. may need to be temporarily removed and stored and reinstalled. Additionally, said street "furniture" may need to be protected from curing spray via plastic sheeting. No additional payment will be made for this item. NOTE: All curb ramps shall meet the requirements of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and ODOT Standards.
