A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Allegheny National Forest Portal sign repair and installation includes fu rnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to repair existing portal signs and install new ones in accordance with project specifications. Work shall comply with the requirements outlined in the solicitation terms and conditions, including applicable provisions and clauses. Vendors are encouraged to visit the site independently to assess conditions prior to submitting a quotation. SUMMARY OF WORK This project includes stone masonry work for the new construction of one new informational sign base to be located near the Pennsylvania/New York border along SR 1013. The work also includes the reconstruction of a recreational sign stone base for the Dewdrop Campground sign. The previous base collapsed and can not be salvaged. The rehabilitation of the other stone sign bases includes cleaning; repointing any missing, cracked or failing mortar joints; and re-attaching any loose or missing stones. Work may also include the replacement of sign support posts if deteriorated, the re-installation of mounting brackets, and the installation of new signs. Any new signs to be installed will be provided by the Government. The existing bases were constructed at various times and of various stone materials. They are currently in various stages of decay. The forest would like to rehabilitate these structures to the best extent possible. Each sign installation should consist of two identification or information signs, two Forest Service shields and two strips with U.S. Department of Agriculture. Missing sign pieces will be replaced as provided by the Government. Each base shall be inspected. Report any additional damage to the bases or damage/decay of the signs, support posts and mounting hardware to the Government Period of Performance: 05/01/2026 to 11/01/2026
