Site work for a water / sewer project in Austin, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
An October 2015 storm event exposed and damaged a 16-inch reclaimed water main in Country Club West Creek on the east side of Krieg Fields, depriving the fields and a bulk fill station of reclaimed water service. The project requires the replacement of approximately 1,150 feet of 16-inch (20-inch HDPE) reclaimed water main that was damaged by flooding and erosion in the Halloween Flood of 2015. Due to highly erodible soils, the preferred long-term solution is to install the replacement main below the erosion hazard zone using horizontal directional drilling (HDD). The Work consists of replacing a reclaimed water line at Krieg Fields in the City of Austin. Approximately 1,100 linear feet of 20-inch HDPE pipeline will be installed using directional drilling and open cut for shorter sections. The work also includes the demolition of a backflow preventer located in Roy G. Guerrero park. A mandatory Site-Visit date has been extended from 01/27/2026 to 02/03/2026 01:30 PM as per Addendum 1
