Renovation of an educational facility in Brookfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Brookfield Elementary School is a two-story masonry structure with an EPDM roof area totaling roughly 42,000 square feet. The building was constructed in 1957 with a large addition in ~1995 to serve as an elementary School for Grades Pre-K to 6. The existing roof is divided into 9 sections, the proposed scope of work for this project is to evaluate the existing conditions of the roof and provide itemized assessments based per roof area. This assessment will be used to determine which areas of the roof are candidates for immediate repair or replacement. This determination will be made with recommendations from the awarded engineering firm. Following that determination the awarded engineering firm will also aid in the bidding, construction, sign off process. No work is being done on the rear portion of the building with the shingled roof. The project budget is $1,000,000 inclusive of all soft and hard costs. The ideal construction budget is $925,000.
