The work includes the removal and disposal of trees, shrubs, and plants along approximately 0.9 miles of Hopewell Road and 0.4 miles of Duello Road. The project covers all work associated with clearing trees, shrubs, and plants from the Hopewell Road and Duello Road right-of-way and temporary construction easements acquired for future road construction projects. Clearing involves removing all trees, shrubs, and plants within the construction limits, unless specifically noted to remain in place. Incidentals include the removal and replacement of any fences as necessary to complete the work, as well as re-vegetation of any disturbed areas. Work must be performed using specified traffic control measures. All bidders must meet MoDOT requirements as a CONTRACTOR at least seven days before the bid opening, in accordance with Section 102.2 of the St. Charles County Standard Specifications for Arterial Highway Construction. All labor must be paid no less than the prevailing hourly wage rate established by the state. The DBE goal is a minimum of 0% of the total contract amount. Bidders will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in consideration for an award. The DBE goal for this letting is a minimum of 0% of the total contract amount. All trees, branches, and shrubs larger than three (3) inches in diameter must be felled by March 31, 2026. Removal of the tree debris can extend into April 2026. With the rate of progress and the time of completion being essential conditions of this contract, liquidated damages will be charged for failure to complete tree felling by March 31st as well as for overall project within the allotted time at the rate of three hundred ($300.00) dollars per day for each working day Q/A:- Question Deadline 01/27/2026 No interpretation of the meaning of the plans, specifications or other pre-bid documents will be made to any bidder orally.
