Renovation of a military facility in Tucson, Arizona. Working plans call for the renovation of a military facility.
This project involves correcting Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) deficiencies and implementing recommended actions from a Physical Security Risk Assessment (PSRA) to improve infrastructure and security at the Tucson CMOP. The scope includes creating a dedicated two-hour fire-rated secure room for the Emergency Electrical System (EES), modifying the EES to provide 100% backup for CMOP operations, increasing fuel storage capacity to support a 48-hour emergency supply, and providing an N+1 redundant EES with a second generator and paralleling switchgear, which requires dock modifications and relocation of trash and recycling compactors. Additional work includes adding HVAC for the space beneath the mezzanine, connecting the building's fire line to a backflow preventer (Bid Alternate 1), and replacing the roof with a single-ply thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) membrane system (Bid Alternate 2). Alternate 3, related to compressed air system controls, is excluded from the scope. Phasing will minimize operational impacts and includes extending the loading dock, relocating trash compactors with a new metal ramp and platform, and constructing the generator area with electrical and HVAC work, along with the bid alternates.
