The project consists of corrective construction work identified in the Facility Condition Assessment completed in 2022 and the Physical Security Risk Assessment completed in 2021 for the Tucson CMOP. Work includes separating the Emergency Electrical System into a dedicated two-hour fire-rated secure room, modifying the Emergency Electrical System to provide 100 percent backup for CMOP operations, increasing fuel storage capacity to achieve a 48-hour fuel supply in accordance with the CMOP Emergency Plan, and providing an N+1 redundant Emergency Electrical System including a second generator with paralleling switchgear, which requires modifications to the loading dock area and relocation of trash and recycling compactors. Additional work includes adding HVAC for the area under the mezzanine, connecting the building's fire line to a backflow preventer under Bid Alternate 1, and replacing the roof with a single-ply thermoplastic polyolefin membrane system under Bid Alternate 2. Proposed phasing includes construction of a loading dock extension, relocation and reinstallation of trash compactors with new metal ramp and platform, generator area and electrical work, HVAC system installation, and execution of Bid Alternates 1 and 2.
