Bids are invited for several items and quantities of work for the Sewer System Improvements Lift Station Standby Generator Project, including: 1) 20 KW Standby Power Generator and Transfer Switch (5 each); 2) 60 KW Standby Power Generator and Transfer Switch (1 each); and 3) 100 KW Standby Power Generator and Transfer Switch (2 each). A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety must be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Combes or negotiable U. S. Government Bond (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The project will be financed with assistance from the General Land Office (GLO) under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program and is subject to all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Not less than the federally determined prevailing Davis-Bacon and Related Acts wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin. Adherence to the City of Combes Section 3 Policy is required for all contracts. All contractors and subcontractors must be cleared (not suspended or debarred) prior to any formal action authorizing the award of a contract to the contractor. Minority Business Enterprises, Small Business Enterprises, Women Business Enterprises, Section 3 Businesses, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to submit bids. The City of Combes reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Combes for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigation of bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
