Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Columbus, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Auditorium 1067, located in the Veterinary Medical Center, will undergo renovation to increase seating capacity and update the teaching and learning environment. Work will include new lighting, ceilings, finishes, and seating throughout. The antiquated A/V booth at the rear will be demolished for additional seating, and more seating rows will be added at the front. New technology will be integrated throughout the space. HVAC work is limited to replacement of pneumatic controls, terminal air-units, and testing/balancing of the space. Asset tagging is included and the primary firm must have or coordinate expertise for this task. The selected A/E will be required to provide services that may include: Program Verification, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Document Preparation, Bid and Award Support, Conformed Documents, Construction Administration, Post-Construction, and Additional Services. Professional liability insurance per contract terms is required. During the construction period, at least 2 hours per week of on-site construction administration is required. Project closeout must be delivered electronically, adhering to university standards. The project must comply with applicable University Sustainability Standards. Relevant experience for this scope includes: auditoriums and large lecture halls; work in academic buildings phased around the academic calendar; audio-visual technology design in academic/conference environments. Basic fee covers all professional and consultant services necessary for the proper completion of the work, including validation of existing conditions and preparation of cost estimates and schedules. Instructions to bidders include submission of the current Statement of Qualifications (Form F110-330) via email as a single PDF, inclusion of EDGE participation documents, listing of professional credentials, and compliance with all specified executive orders and university requirements. The project team must utilize the University’s Project Management System for all compatible services.
