The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the supply of labour, material, supervision and equipment necessary to upgrade municipal services and replace asphalt along Borden Ave in the Department of National Defence South Residential Townsite. JOB NO.L-P90-9900/1004 PF NO. - NO DP 500982458 1 The intent of this project is to complete the road and utility reconstruction for the South Townsite Phase 12 - Stage 2. The road included within Stage 2 is Borden Avenue. The work will include, but is not necessarily limited to the following: .1 Removal of existing roadway and base granular material, underground infrastructure, sidewalk, curb and gutter, and street lighting along Borden Avenue from Wolfe Avenue to Dundonald Road, as indicated on the drawings: .1 It is anticipated that there is asbestos cement pipe to be removed and disposed of. The Contractor shall complete this work in accordance with Section 02 41 13 - Selective Site Demolition and Section 02 82 00.01 - Asbestos Abatement - Minimum Precautions and any local regulations. .2 New base and subbase granular materials. .3 New concrete curbing. .4 New asphalt paving and pavement markings. .5 New concrete sidewalks, include crosswalk letdowns and associated tactile walking surface indicators. .6 New underground utilities including storm, sanitary, and water. .7 Connections to existing services. .8 Provide temporary water supply during construction. .9 Temporary infrastructure to facilitate the installation of the new underground infrastructure. .10 Replacement of new street lighting. .2 The drawing and specification Sections more completely describe all aspects of work and material requirements. Preliminary details have been provided to GEMTEC, based on which the project limits are understood to be as follows (also see Figure 1, Site Plan): Wolfe Avenue between CFB South Townsite Limits and Dundonald Drive (approximately 600 metres); Borden Avenue Wolfe Avenue to Dundonald Drive (approximately 740 metres); Dundonald Drive Sherman Road to Laurentian Drive (approximately 1,200 metres); Brock Square Dundonald Drive to Dundonald Drive (approximately 380 metres); and, Volunteer Way Dundonald Drive to north CFB South Townsite Limits (approximately 120 metres). It is currently understood that the maximum depth for the installation of the services is 5 metres below the existing ground surface.
