Closing Time: 3:00 PM (NT) The Contractor is responsible for locating all existing utilities prior to starting work and for laying out the work according to the listed drawings. The scope of work requires the Contractor to provide all plant, labour, materials, and equipment to complete the work as specified, which includes mobilization and demobilization to the site (including site access and disposal of removed soil), installation of a protective coating on all surfaces of the steel penstock (approximately 450m long) with all required surface preparation and disposal of removed paint according to provincial guidelines, removal and installation of new penstock expansion joint systems (four in total), removal and installation of a new rocker style connection under the steel penstock, and placement of granular backfill along the penstock right of way to cap contaminated soil (which must be hydroseeded). The Contractor must complete all work indicated in the specifications and on the drawings and may be required to carry out the work in stages. They must also submit a detailed construction schedule and maintain the necessary staffing and resources to meet mandatory milestones. All work must be done in accordance with Owner's policies and procedures, and the Contractor is responsible for the complete and proper installation as described in the specifications. The Contractor must also properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials such as contaminated soil and lead paint. The Contractor is required to cooperate with all inspection and testing, correct any defective work, and maintain all required documentation and reporting as specified.
