Site work and paving for a transportation facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.
The project involves the Carrollton Double Crossover Widening, approximately 400 feet in length, including removal and replacement of the double crossover track with owner provided materials, field modifications to the existing S-curve track, replacement of timber ties with owner furnished composite ties, reworking existing rail beds and constructing rail beds on new alignments, removal and replacement of the Overhead Contact System and switch control system to match the relocated track centers, installation of wayside train control system, and replacement and improvements to street crossings and station pavement. All work indicated or specified within the contract documents is included. The contractor must ensure public safety at all times, minimize interference with daily traffic and streetcar operations, use suitable barricading, locate storage and staging areas off site, and coordinate specific work areas with the City and Regional Transit Authority to minimize traffic impacts. All specified work must be completed within 120 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. A site visit & pre-bid meeting will be held Wednesday February 11 at 2:00 PM.
