Asbestos abatement at Kaneland High School, including two containments involving floor tile/mastic and pipe insulation and two mini-containments involving pipe insulation in glovebag tents. A Performance and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract is required. Bid Security of 10% of the Bid is required with the proposal. The Contractor must pay the Prevailing Wage Rates for all work per Illinois Law. It is the policy to provide equal opportunity to all qualified businesses and promote the utilization of diversified businesses to the maximum extent feasible. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, waive irregularities in the bidding procedure, or accept the Bid that in its opinion will serve its best interest. The Owner may set aside a Bid from a Contractor who does not exhibit past experience equal to the size and scope of this project. The Bidder shall have a written sexual harassment policy in place in full compliance with Illinois law. Bidders are required to perform 10% of the work with Bidder's own forces, subject to limitations in the Bidding documents. No bid shall be withdrawn, modified, or cancelled without the Owner's consent for sixty (60) days after the opening of Bids. The successful bidder must furnish required insurance, including guarantee of indemnity to the Owner and Architect against all claims for damages to persons or property due to negligence during construction and until final acceptance by the Owner.
