Description

Site work and new construction of a civil project in Burnaby, British Columbia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.

The City of Burnaby is reviewing five potential sites for the new pedestrian and cyclist overpass across the active railway in the Brentwood neighbourhood. The potential crossing locations are at Madison Avenue, Alaska Street, Willingdon Avenue, Beta Avenue, and Douglas Road. TIMELINE: This project is preliminary and is proposed as part of the owner's current capital plan. The owner has identified five potential locations for the project. Phase One of the public engagement is complete with Phase Two scheduled for mid to late 2026. Draft design may occur mid 2026 to 2027. Further update in fall 2026.
