Site work, new construction and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Katy, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a playground / park / athletic field; for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
**As of March 23, 2026, project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Furnishing all necessary materials, equipment, superintendence, and labor for the construction of the 3B Learning Center project The project involves the construction of improvements including granite gravel path, signage, tiered outdoor classroom, irrigation, landscape, water, and electrical at the site located at 5402 Franz Road. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than 5% of total bid amount, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute the required bonds within ten days after notice of award. At the option of the bidder, the guarantee may be one of the following: a. Cashier's check or certified check upon a national or state bank, payable to the City of Katy. b. Bid bond from a surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, such bid bond being within the maximum amount specified for such company in that publication. Bids without such guarantee will not be considered. Award of this contract will be made on the basis of the lowest responsive responsible bid and references. The right is reserved as the interest of the Owner may require, to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received. The successful bidder must furnish Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bonds on the forms provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price from a Surety acceptable to the Owner. Owner reserves the right to award the contract at any time within ninety (90) days after bid opening. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order No. 11246, as amended by Executive Order 11375, and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations 41 CFR Part 60. This Section specifies the requirements for providing protection, support, and maintenance of existing utilities within, adjacent to, or affected by the work under this Contract. This Section specifies mobilization of the equipment at the site; the requirements for materials and supplies necessary for the prosecution of the work, but not to be incorporated in the Work; the construction of temporary fencing; the requirements for personnel and facilities for work preparatory to commencing the work and demobilization. The work of this section includes labor, materials, hardware, equipment, transportation and services required to fabricate and place all reinforcement for castin-place concrete including bars, ties and supports shown on the drawings and as specified. Extent of concrete work is shown on drawings, including notes and details which show size and location of members and type of concrete to be poured. Furnish all labor, materials, services, equipment and hardware required in conjunction with or related to the forming, delivery and pouring of all poured-in-place concrete work. This Section specifies the requirements for earthwork, including excavation, utility, protection, filling, backfilling compaction, grading and disposal of unacceptable and excess excavation. Furnish all equipment, materials, labor and services to complete all trenching and trench backfill and related work as indicated on drawings as specified. A. Provide all exterior planting as shown on the drawings or inferable there from and/or as specified in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. B. These specifications include standards necessary for and incidental to the execution and completion of planting, including hauling and spreading of topsoil, and finished grading as indicated on the prepared drawings and specified herein. C. Protection of existing features. During construction, protect all existing trees, shrubs, and other specified vegetation, site features and improvements, structures, and utilities specified herein and/or on submitted drawings. Removal or destruction of existing plantings is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the owner. A. General: The Scope of Work for this Project shall consist of providing all supplies, support services, data and labor, tools, materials, equipment, supervision, construction and all else required to prepare the Site and construct the project as described and indicated in and in accordance with the Contract Documents. B. Project Scope: The Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following major items, to the extent specified and indicated. 1. Contractor is requested to visit the project site prior to placing Bids and observe all conditions that may impact their pricing of work. 2. Provide administration and construction support services to complete the work. 3. Coordination with utility owners and governing agencies. Portions of this project are within utility easements. 4. Coordination and scheduling with all applicable contractors involved in the project area working under separate contract. 5. Strip entire site as directed on plans of existing weeds, trees and debris as required to properly begin earthwork. 6. Provide, install, inspect and maintain Pollution Prevention measures as per standard TCEQ construction site requirements. 7. Rough grade as required for surface drainage system, import soil as required. 8. Provide fine grading operations and patch / repair existing turf conditions as required. 9. Provide and install galvanized steel channel and electrical service panel / meter can. 10. Install all hardscape elements and trails per drawings. 11. Provide and install all planting (unit price costs for plant material shall include all required bed preparation, fertilization, and mulching), bed preparation and mulch. 12. Provide and install complete and operable automatic irrigation system. Provide As-Built Drawings. 13. Provide and install all solid sod and hydromulch as required and designated on drawings. 14. Contractor shall mow, edge, weed eat, clean up trash and debris on the project site as needed to keep it clean and presentable commencing the day the contractor mobilizes. 15. Provide overseeding of all grassed landscape areas as per planting plans, details, notes and special requirements for overseeding work. 16. Provide Maintenance and Warranty as per specifications. 17. Execute application for and procurement of all necessary permits with governing institutions; this project falls in Harris County. 18. Provide Bid Bond with Bid in the amount of 2 % of your Lump Sum Bid. 19. Provide Payment and Performance Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of project cost. 20. Regarding tax exempt projects that require bonding, the contractor will be responsible for recording bonds in person at the designated county. 21. Contractor is responsible for commencing work upon receiving Notice to Proceed and will complete all work as shown on plans within the contract days allocated for this job. 22. No work shall commence on site prior to approval in field. If an issue arises / needs clarification, not shown on plans it is the contractor's responsibility to notify the Landscape Architect in writing. If field corrections are required and contractor did not notify the Landscape Architect in writing, adjustments to correct the issue will be the contractor's responsibility at no additional cost to the project. 23. Bid provided shall be qualified inclusive of all items shown within plan set and cover cost of permits, materials, labor, and installation. Exclusions added by contractor will not be accepted or included in the contract documents. Contractor is responsible for formally submitting RFI during the bid period for clarifications regarding bid set documents, drawings, specifications, or project conditions. 24. Contractor shall complete one mowing and have a full stand of grass, 95% turf coverage with no bare areas in excess of 6 inches diameter, before substantial completion will be granted. A. The Drilling Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, services, equipment (including temporary castings where required) and shall install all piers at the locations and depths shown on the drawings or as otherwise directed by the Owner's Geotechnical Engineer. B. The Drilling Contractor shall furnish and place all reinforcing steel and dowels as shown on the drawings. C. The General Contractor shall provide all necessary excavation, sheeting and bracing or other adequate maintenance of excavation banks, suitable runways and ramps as necessary for access of pier drilling, control of ground and surface water as necessary to keep the work area sufficiently dry, suitable access roads for movement of equipment and materials to and from pier locations, field layout required for pier work including setting and maintaining a location stake for each pier and giving cut off grades on all piers, removal and replacement of all overhead and underground obstructions as required, and coordination of all concrete ordering and delivery.
