Project will include, but not limited to the following: Install new coating systems on the interior and exterior surfaces of the existing ground storage tank and miscellaneous repairs. Overview The existing ground storage tank at the TX-182 plant is in need of repair in accordance with the TCEQ Chapter 290 Rules and Regulations. To achieve this objective, this contract provides for the following sequence of events. 1. The Contractor shall sandblast and install new interior coating system on all interior surfaces and appurtenances of the existing ground storage tank. 2. The Contractor shall sandblast and install new exterior coating system on all exterior surfaces and appurtenances of the existing ground storage tank. 3. The Contractor shall demolish the existing 30” roof access hatch and install a new hatch. 4. The Contractor shall demolish the existing 12” roof vent and install a new mushroom style vent with mesh. 5. The Contractor shall demolish and remove the existing electrical junction box and exterior wall-mounted level gauge and patch holes with new steel plate. 6. The Contractor shall repair by welding the existing roof plate lapping. 7. The Contractor shall install a new gasket on the new roof access hatch. 8. The Contractor shall disinfect the tank after adequate time has elapsed once the interior coating system has cured in accordance with the Manufacturer’s specifications. Bid Security, Performance and Payment Bonds shall be as set forth in the INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIDDERS. Bright Star-Salem SUD reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formalities. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual bid opening date. Any questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to ENGINEER. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by ENGINEER having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than 10 days prior to the date for opening of bids may not be answered. Addenda may also be issued to modify the Bidding Documents as deemed advisable by OWNER or ENGINEER.
