Renovation of a municipal facility in Newark, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

ULEC intends to prequalify NJ Certified Lead Abatement and RRP Certified Lead Remediation contractors with experience, training and required certificationsto participate in Isles' Qualified Contractor Pool to perform work under the NJ Department of Community Affairs (NJ DCA) Lead Assistance Program grants. These include but are not limited to the Lead Safe Home Remediation, Single Family Home Remediation and Lead Remediation and Abatement Program. Eligible units include 1-10 family owner-occupied and rental units. All questions or requestsfor additional information shall be directed to email at: jhenderson@ulec.org As the provider of services under the NJ DCA's Lead Remediation and Abatement Program (LRAP) The Urban League of Essex County, is seeking responses from qualified Contractors to become part of a "Qualified Contractor Pool" to provide either lead remediation/ mitigation and/or lead abatement services for 2024- 2026 Lead Remediation and Abatement Program grant from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA). (Note: Only contractors on the NJ Certified Lead Abatement Contractor list can perform abatements). The purpose of this program is to identify and remediate lead-based paint hazards to prevent elevated blood lead levels in children and pregnant women and to provide a lead safe environment for our residents. The Urban League of Essex County intends to add an extension for new Lead Hazard Control/ Remediation Contractors to participate in our existing "Qualified Lead Contractor Pool" of up to 5 additional contractors. The purpose of this program is to identify and remediate lead-based paint hazards to prevent elevated blood lead levels in children and pregnant women. The program targets municipalities in New Jersey with high reported incidence of elevated blood lead levels in children under six. A pre-qualification application package may be obtained, starting 01/23/2026 at 509 Central Avenue, Newark, NJ 07107 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. prevailing time, Monday through Friday, or by emailing at jhenderson@ulec.org. ULEC reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in any application, to reject any and all applications, or to accept such applications that, at the discretion of ULEC, are in their best interest. Any contractor who has been suspended from any federal, state or local program is not eligible to perform under this RFQ.
