Renovation of an educational facility in Albany, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 36,600-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.
The project is for the replacement of windows at Ryckman Hall and Van Rensselaer Hall located on the SUNY Albany Dutch Quad at the Uptown campus. The work consists of the removal of existing windows and doors, and the abatement of all associated asbestos and PCB caulking. This will also include the installation of new windows and doors, and associated hardware, demolition repairs, finishes and furnishings. Construction is estimated in the cost range of $3,000,000 - $3,500,000. Bidders for the construction of this project will be selected only after the review and evaluation of the qualification packages received in response to this notice. Instructions to bidders: Each firm responding to this solicitation shall submit an EOI package organized and assembled in a clear, logical and professional manner consistent with the requirements set forth herein. Each package shall be submitted with a Cover Page, Table of Contents, and divided into clearly labeled tabbed sections. Failure to comply with these instructions may render the submission non-responsive and subject to rejection. Tabs must follow the specified sequence and all items required in each tab must be provided. The Owner may reject any EOI package not prepared and submitted in accordance with these provisions. Pre-qualification requirements: - Provide a company profile including ownership information, client list, employee breakdown, equipment, self-performed services, and MWBE and SDVOB certifications (if applicable). - Minimum of five (5) years of experience with projects similar in size, scope, and complexity. - Documentation of five relevant projects completed or substantially completed within the last ten (10) years, including required detailed project information. - Three sample project schedules for similar projects. - Written safety program or site safety plan and the resume of the person responsible for project safety. - Names and résumés for the proposed project team with experience on similar projects, including at minimum Project Manager, Site Superintendent, Project Engineer, and Quality Control Representative. - List of potential subcontractors for the project, with anticipated M/WBE subcontract participation, trade, and brief description of scope. - List of other projects ongoing during this project's construction period and how completion will be managed. - Letter indicating the firm's Experience Modification Rating (EMR) over the past three years. - Signed letter from a Surety Company attesting to bonding capacity. - NYS Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire For-Profit Construction (CCA-2) certified within the last five months. - Compliance with New York State business registration requirements and, if providing engineering services, a Certificate of Authorization from the State Education Department. - Tabs 1 through 7 will be scored by a DASNY committee and only qualified firms will be shortlisted and invited to bid. - EEO and M/WBE workforce and contract goals apply: Minority & Women Workforce Goal for all trades 45%, Minority Business Enterprise Goal 18%, Women's Business Enterprise Goal 12%, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses Goal 6%.
