The project consists of Track Replacement for Central Unit School District 301. The main work is divided into the following bid packages: General Trades (#06A), Excavation/Site Utilities/Site Concrete (#31A), and Asphalt Paving (#32B). Bidders are to refer to the specific Scope of Work for each package for inclusion and responsibility. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or cashier's check in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate of the Base Bid and all Alternates, made payable to the Owner as a guarantee that if the Bid is accepted, a Contract will be entered into and the performance of the Contract is properly secured. No bid will be considered unless the bidder provides evidence satisfactory to Community School District 301 of the Village of Burlington, Kane County, Illinois that they have the necessary facilities, abilities, experience, equipment, financial and physical resources to fulfill the conditions of the Contract and execute the work if awarded. Bidders must examine the Bid Documents, the existing conditions and location in which the work is to be done, and judge for themselves all circumstances and conditions affecting the cost and nature of the work. All bids will be presumed to be based on such examination and judgment. Bids may be held for a period of ninety (90) days for the purpose of reviewing and investigating the qualifications of Bidders prior to awarding the contracts. The successful Bidder is required to provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond in the sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Bid. Sufficient insurance must be provided as a guarantee of indemnity to the Owner, Architect, and Construction Manager against claims arising during construction. The project is subject to the State of Illinois Prevailing Wage requirements for Kane County, Illinois. Additional bidder requirements are included in the Bidding Documents.
