Reference Number 0000410423 The Shelby Township Historical Committee, in partnership with the Charter Township of Shelby, is seeking proposals from qualified professionals or firms with demonstrated expertise in historic cemetery preservation. This project will focus on the preservation, and restoration of Curtis Cemetery and Ewell Cemetery, two of the Township's oldest and most historically significant burial sites. The selected contractor will work in close coordination with the Historical Committee and Township staff to carry out preservation efforts over a three-year period. Work shall include, but is not limited to: o Comprehensive condition assessments of Curtis and Ewell Cemeteries o Identification of markers in need of repair, stabilization, or resetting o Gentle cleaning and preservation of headstones using industry-accepted best practices o Development of long-term care and maintenance recommendations o Regular updates and progress reports to the Historical Committee throughout the project o Final report and presentation upon project completion All work must follow and comply with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines.
