Question Deadline 02/09/2026 at 4:00 AM ET as per Agenda. Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) is seeking proposals from premier security fencing contractors for the installation of a comprehensive perimeter defense system at our Administrative Building. Following two independent professional security vulnerability assessments, GRU has committed to upgrading its physical security posture to protect critical personnel, administrative assets, and regional utility data. Project Goals The primary objective of this project is to create a robust, aesthetically professional, and technologically integrated physical barrier that accomplishes the following: Deterrence & Delay: Establish a clear "hardened" perimeter that serves as a formidable psychological and physical deterrent to unauthorized entry or pre-operational surveillance. Operational Continuity: Ensure the Administrative Building can maintain 24/7 operations securely, even during periods of elevated regional threat levels. Access Management: Integrate the fencing solution with existing electronic access control (EAC) systems to streamline authorized employee entry while effectively managing visitor flow. Asset Protection: Secure the immediate grounds of the headquarters, including the executive parking areas and high-value infrastructure entry points.
