45-foot wood poles, class 5 or better, copper naphthenate treated. Poles must conform to the applicable requirements of Section 820 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, latest edition. Timber treated either within the Commonwealth of Kentucky or within a 100-mile distance of its borders will be inspected, tested, and approved by the Division of Materials, Department of Highways prior to acceptance for payment. For treated wood materials from outside this distance, an independent treated-wood testing company approved by the Division of Materials must grade inspect, sample, and test the material at no expense to the Department, and a report must be submitted for approval before acceptance of the material for payment. Vendors furnishing timber treated outside the 100-mile distance must contact the Division of Materials at least 15 days prior to commencing an order. Vendor must furnish a boom truck and is responsible for unloading all poles at the state storage yard, incidental to the bid price of the poles.
