The work, officially known as 'Lagoon Dikes Improvements: Lagoon 2 Phase 1 Perimeter Berm Flood Resilience Maintenance Project at the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant,' is located at the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant, 1610 Moorland Road, Madison WI 53713. When completed, this project will provide the Owner with a vinyl sheet pile floodwall along the Lagoon 2 south berm with the purpose of reducing the risk of Nine Springs Creek flooding Lagoon 2. The major facilities or components of the Project include, but are not limited to, the following: Installation of vinyl sheet pile floodwall along the Lagoon 2 south berm; Placement of Gravel ramp near the west end of the vinyl sheet pile floodwall to transition the driving surface from the lower crest elevations along the Lagoon 2 south berm to the higher crest elevations along the Lagoon 1 south berm; Placement and grading of General Fill along the vinyl sheet pile floodwall to promote positive drainage of stormwater north to Lagoon 2 and prevent ponding along the vinyl sheet pile floodwall; Revegetation; Erosion and Sedimentation Control. All prime bidders and vinyl sheet pile floodwall installation subcontractors must be qualified for this specific work. The OWNER will conduct such investigation as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the Bidders and subcontractors to perform the size and type of work specified in the Contract Documents. All prospective prime bidders and vinyl sheet pile floodwall installation subcontractors must submit qualifications for review and approval by the District. Subcontractors are not required to submit bonding and financial qualifications. Prequalification applications will be distributed with the Contract Documents. Bidders who have already submitted prequalification documentation to the District within the current calendar year shall resubmit to prequalify for this specific work. If a Bidder has not filed the prequalification application, their proposal will not be considered.
