Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The scope of work involves furnishing all of the required labor, materials, equipment, implements, parts, and supplies necessary for removal of existing concrete boat launch, asphalt driveway pavement, and chain link fence, and the reconstruction of the concrete boat launch, asphalt driveway and chain link fence, as well as the associated erosion control, grading and restoration activities. All proposals must be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Bank Draft for 10% of the total bid made payable to the Crystal Lake Park District. Each bid shall also include three references of clients for which similar work was performed, listing the name, address and telephone number of the client, a description of the work, and the construction cost. Removal of existing concrete boat launch, asphalt driveway pavement, and chain link fence, and the reconstruction of the concrete boat launch, asphalt driveway and chain link fence, as well as the associated erosion control, grading and restoration activities. Though no work is proposed within the Lake Avenue right-of-way and vehicles and equipment may not be parked along Lake Avenue, the Contractor shall provide signage and flaggers as necessary to warn and protect the public if any vehicles or equipment must be temporarily stopped or parked along Lake Avenue for loading or unloading purposes. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment needed to provide traffic control and protection as described above. The traffic control and protection shall be performed in accordance with this Special Provision; Section 701 of the Standard Specifications; the "Illinois Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways;" and Check Sheet LRS3 Special Provision for Work Zone Traffic Control Surveillance except as modified herein. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment needed to complete all necessary construction staking and layout for the project. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the installation of the temporary concrete washout according to the plans and details. Maintenance of the concrete washout, as well as removal, proper disposal, and restoration following completion of construction is also included in the work. This work shall consist of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to install, operate and maintain, and remove the cofferdam as indicated on the plans. This work shall be done in accordance with Practice Standard Code 803 of the Illinois Urban Manual (IUM). This work shall also include furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to manage the water within the cofferdam area as needed to complete the boat ramp improvements. Dewatering shall be completed in accordance with IUM Practice Standard Code 813 and any County/local stormwater requirements. The type and extent of cofferdam is at the discretion of the Contractor, as approved by the Engineer. This approval does not create an obligation on the part of the Engineer/Owner, nor does it remove any requirements identified herein. The type and extent of cofferdam will likely be dependent upon water levels at the time of construction and contractor preferences. Construction timing shall be targeted to take advantage of low water levels and avoid major rainfall events to the extent practicable. The Contractor is solely responsible for the means and methods for the cofferdam. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment needed to remove and salvage the chain link fence fabric, rails, bars, wires, and hardware as needed in the locations indicated on the plans in order to complete the pavement removal and replacement operations without damage to the fence. Fence posts shall remain in place during construction. The Contractor shall store the salvaged fence materials in a location protected from potential damage during construction. The work also includes re-installing the salvaged fence products following completion of paving and restoration operations. Furnishing and placing any new hardware that may be required to correctly re-install the fence components shall be included in the work. The Contractor shall be responsible for replacing in-kind at their own expense any fence components, including posts, that are damaged/broken during construction. This work shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment needed to haul away and properly dispose of any excess excavated material. The work shall also include sampling or testing of the material as needed to confirm it is considered "clean construction or demolition debris". This work is for removal and disposal of uncontaminated excavated material. If any material is determined to be contaminated, removal and disposal is covered under SP-7 below. Method of Measurement: This work will be measured for payment per cubic yard of excess excavated material removed. Basis of Payment: This work will be paid for at the contract unit price per cubic yard for REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF EXCESS EXCAVATED MATERIAL. The unit price shall include any labor, materials, equipment, sampling and testing required to remove and dispose of the excess material. Any alternations or modifications of the work herein specified shall be made only by written agreement between the Bidder and the Park District, and shall be made prior to commencement of any such alternations or modifications. No claims for any extra work or materials will be allowed unless covered by written agreement.
