Renovation of a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.

The scope of work includes the demolition of two existing Vista chemistry analyzers and replacing them with one new Roche Cobas pro and one new Roche Cobas Pure Chemistry Analyzer in the existing operational Laboratory on the 2nd Floor of UCLA West Valley Medical Center. The University will furnish the two new Roche Cobas chemical analyzer equipment for Contractor to install. The required improvements include modifications to existing building electrical upgrades, plumbing, and mechanical systems. One new above-ceiling Fan Coil is to be installed in the same Laboratory Space. The Contractor is to refer to all architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical construction documents to follow the relocation sequence of equipment and required utilities so the Lab Staff has two operational analyzers at all times during the construction duration. The analyzers to be managed include the two existing Vista analyzers and two new Roche Cobas analyzers. The project requires ACM (Asbestos Containing Material) abatement as identified in a recent third-party survey, and this must be included in the project scope. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference via Zoom and a Mandatory Site Visit (Job Walk) at the project site are required. Only bidders who participate in both, in their entirety, will be allowed to bid as prime contractors. The successful Bidder must hold a current and active California B License (General Building) at the time of submission. Prequalification is required, and Bidders must meet the minimum experience set forth in the Prequalification Questionnaire posted on the UCLA Online Planroom website. The completed Prequalification Questionnaire must be received by the stated deadline. Equal employment opportunity policy evidence may be required. All applicable nondiscrimination and prevailing wage requirements must be followed. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay no less than the UC Fair Wage and comply with all working condition requirements. Efforts must be made to maximize the participation of small business enterprises (SBEs) and disabled veteran business enterprises (DVBEs). Pre-qualification requirements: Bidders must have the minimum experience set forth in the Prequalification Questionnaire contained in the Bidding Documents and posted on the UCLA Online Planroom website. The completed Prequalification Questionnaire must be received in a sealed envelope or uploaded to the UCLA Online Planroom website by the specified deadline. Bidders are required to have a current and active California B License (General Building) at the time of bid submission. All bidders and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE & JOB WALK: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and Mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted on January 20, 2026 January 6, 2026. Only bidders who participate in both the Conference and the Job Walk, in their entirety, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors.
