Construction of a new 9,000-square-foot maintenance building to replace multiple existing structures that have reached the end of their lifecycle, including demolition of four buildings and a propane storage tank, removal and termination of associated utilities, and construction of a pre-engineered metal building with a gable roof, 20-foot clear ceiling height, office areas with steel stud framing and gypsum board, propane-fired heating in vehicle and workshop areas, air-conditioned office spaces, upgraded electrical service as needed, and connection to the existing diesel generator for backup power. Work includes providing HVAC, electrical, communications, fire protection, life safety, plumbing, waste-oil storage, and compressed-air systems; designing and constructing a separate 3,000-square-foot powered and lighted storage shed; and performing civil site work including paving, stormwater drainage, domestic water and sanitary sewer utility connections, connection of existing sanitary sewer lines to the town system, a vehicle wash area, installation of fire hydrants, and site electrical and telecommunications connections from existing infrastructure. A propane storage tank must be installed and connected to both the new maintenance building and the existing propane-fired generator.
