The Design-Bid-Build effort includes expansion of hangar doors at Facility B90176 to support the HADES mission and accommodate the ME-11B (Bombardier Global 6500) aircraft. Work involves replacing two existing hangar doors with single 120-foot-wide rolling sectional doors of equal height vertical fabric door with two sections of increased height, requiring major structural modifications to the pre-engineered metal building, including removal and replacement of wind posts, grade beams, spandrel beams, and portions of the concrete slab. Exterior improvements include extending the trench drain and adjusting adjacent man-doors and wall-mounted utility lines. Interior work consists of installing higher-capacity motors for the new doors, refinishing and restriping affected hangar floor areas, making minor partition and finish modifications to support new flight group requirements, and evaluating and replacing fan and motor control centers of existing Big Ass Fans. Extensive structural, fire suppression, and life safety analyses are required to ensure code compliance and safe integration of all modifications.
