Site work for an educational facility in Carlisle Brks, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a primary / secondary education facility.
Sealed bids are invited for construction of Carlisle Middle School, Waggoners Gap Road, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Separate, sealed bids will be received for the following Prime Contracts: General Construction, Site Construction, Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Construction, Plumbing Construction, and Electrical Construction. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked with the bidder's name and the project name. This Project has 5 Prime Contracts, each with an estimated value as follows: 3224-1 General Construction $37,961,000 3224-2 Site Construction $10,233,000 3224-3 Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning Construction $9,606,000 3224-4 Plumbing Construction $3,822,000 3224-5 Electrical Construction $7,557,000 Total $69,179,000 Bidders may obtain bidding documents in electronic (.pdf) format or hard copy by written request. Required bidder information includes mailing address, representative's name, telephone number, facsimile number, email address, and requested contract(s) and contract number(s). Bidding documents are available for examination through several listed construction exchanges. Each bid must include a bid security equal to 10% of the Base Bid amount and all alternate bid amounts, in the form of a Bid Bond. Successful bidders must provide a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each for 100% of the contract amount, with corporate surety. Bids may not be modified, withdrawn, or cancelled for 60 calendar days after opening, except as permitted by law. The school district reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive irregularities, and to award any combination of alternates or none at its discretion. This project is subject to Pennsylvania's prevailing wage requirements, and corporations not organized in Pennsylvania must secure appropriate authorization to do business in the Commonwealth. The Project consists of construction of a new Middle School and associated parking, drives, outdoor learning areas, and athletic field. B. Generally, the new construction consists of load bearing masonry, structural steel columns, steel joists and metal deck, masonry veneer, exterior metal wall panels, membrane roofing system, aluminum storefront and curtain wall systems, casework and interior finishes along with the specified mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. 2. Site Construction Contract 3760-2: The Site Construction Contract includes civil construction, plus other construction operations traditionally recognized as Site Construction. Work under this prime contract includes, but is not limited to, the following: a. All Site Construction work indicated on these Contract Documents which shall include but not be limited to earthwork, landscaping, paving, all exterior concrete curbs, walks and stairs and/or ramps and associated railings. The courtyard shall be considered part of the overall site. b. All bulk excavation. c. Excavation for the building pad, including elevator pit and all recessed floor areas as shown on the Architectural and Structural drawings. d. Removal and replacement of all unsatisfactory soils under the building footprint. Refer to Division 1 Section Unit Prices for Unit Prices and Quantity Allowances that shall be included in the Base Bid. e. Exterior equipment pads for the dumpsters, dust collector, and auto-brine tank. f. Curb, drainage and stone base for playground areas asindicated on the Civil drawings (refer to Work by Owner below). g. Play field. h. All permanent fencing. i. All exterior concrete walks, concrete drives and curbing, and loading dock apron and associated trench drain. j. Grease trap, including excavation and backfill. k. Site accessories, including but not limited to, the following: Non-illuminated utility bollards (including painting the bollards), tree grates, fencing, ground set flag poles and site traffic signs and pavement markings. l. Segmental retaining walls. m. Final grading of the new athletic field. (Seeding of the athletic field shall be by the Owner.) n. Maintenance of the construction entrance throughout the duration of construction. o. See Site Utility Division of Responsibility below for detail regarding the SC scope of work for site utilities. p. Where Specification Sections included in the Scope of this Prime Contract reference provisions of Specification Sections of another Prime Contract, those provisions shall be included in the Work of this Prime Contract as if the referenced Specification Sections are included in their entirety in the Specification Sections for this Prime Contract.
