Renovation of a mixed-use development in Athens, West Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Concord University is seeking Expressions of Interest (“EOI”) from Design Professionals for Architectural and Engineering services to design renovations to the First (1st) Floor of Wooddell Hall to accommodate a Rural Health Solutions Nursing Project. The project is for renovations to part of the first floor of Wooddell Hall to accommodate the Rural Health Solutions Nursing Project at Concord University. The scope includes removing several partitions to expand two classrooms and create a unisex restroom, renovating the lobby and hallway, providing a general architectural/engineering assessment of the existing space, planning with faculty and staff to confirm space needs, producing schematic and design development layouts with cost estimates, upgrading HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, replacing windows involved in the project, addressing abatement of asbestos, lead paint, and any other hazardous materials, and completing a detailed set of construction documents for bidding. The selected Design Professional will also oversee abatement in coordination with the university and a subconsultant as necessary, and will assist with the bidding process and evaluation of bids. EOI submissions should be provided in PDF format. This project must be completed and the building ready for occupancy by July 27, 2026.
