Bids are requested for ODOT Item 422 Chip & Seal on 20.23 miles of various roads in Medina County, Ohio. Bid documents and details as to the location of the proposed improvements must be obtained through the Bid Express web service. Bids must be submitted electronically through Bid Express. Each bidder shall file a bid guaranty with the bid, either a Bid/Performance Bond in the amount of one-hundred percent of the amount bid, or a Certified Check, Cashier's Check, or Letter of Credit equal to 10% of the amount bid, conditioned upon executing a contract in conformity with the bid, plans, details, specifications, and bills of material if accepted. All contractors and subcontractors involved will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor. Contract compliance with the Equal Opportunity requirements, Governor's Executive Orders, and Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Division of Labor and Worker Safety, is required. The bid will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder. The Medina County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids. Application rate of ODOT Item 422 seal coat can/should be adjusted by the Contractor to rates appropriate to the conditions he finds at the time of application. At no time shall the adjusted rates exceed those specified without prior approval by the County Inspector. The County reserves the right to eliminate, increase or decrease the estimated quantities of any line item or to non-perform any lump sum item. The Contractor must be capable of adjusting to these demands and perform any additional work as directed by the Board of Commissioners or their representative.
