ITEMS TO BE BID Paving of various roads throughout Lawrence County. Bids must in prescribed forms. Attached you find a list of roads to be bid ...the following are minimum specifications and not meant to limit or restrict bidders . It is recommended that all roads be viewed prior to bidding . Contractor shall sweep the roads immediately prior to paving . Full Width paving is preferred . Scheduling of road closure coordinated through the highway department . Contractor is not to exceed estimated tonnage without prior approval of the County Highway Department . Work is to proceed in a timely manner , without excessive interruptions or delays. Lawrence County reserves the right to void a bid , if the work is not completed in a timely manner . Scheduling shall be coordinated through the County Highway Department . All work shall be completed within 120 days of Notice to Proceed . The County reserves the right to perform inspections , random testing material and job mix formulas and weigh trucks at any random time . A tack coat shall be applied to all existing pavement prior to wedge and leveling at the minimum rate of .05 Gal per square yard unless otherwise directed at the job site by the Superintendent . Refence section 406 of the Indiana Department of Transportation Specifications for Hot Mix Asphalt ( HMA) Contractor shall make smooth transition to all private driveways and intersecting roads . All Start and stopping points as well as intersections will require milling to provide a smooth transition and all millings must be disposed of , not left on the side of road unless approved by the district foreman . The County will provide all traffic control , including warning signs and Flagman as necessary. All materials and workmanship shall meet Indiana Department of Transportation Standard specifications of section 402 Hot Mix Asphalt ( HMA ). Bids shall include bituminous mix complete laid in place for new or resurfacing project , including all materials , paving and compaction equipment , tack , oil , labor , supervision and trucking charges . The county reserves the right to supplement trucking wit county trucks . It is the County's intention to provide trucks for the projects . All bidders that do not have the capabilities to produce bituminous mix are to bid for the paving and compaction equipment , tack oil , labor and supervision and trucking . The County will be billed and pay the provider of the HMA separately . The County reserves the right to choose the provider of the HMA .
