Sealed proposals are invited for Fiber Optic Installation. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the City of Sevierville. Specifications and bid forms can be obtained at Sevierville City Hall or from the city's website. Envelopes must be labeled 'Bid Enclosed: Fiber Optic Installation' and mailed to the specified address. The City of Sevierville is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to perform underground and ariel fiber optic installation work along Parkway in Sevierville. The fiber shall be a 36 count interfacing into an existing 48 count cable and connect into 3 traffic cabinets eventually ending at Parkway and Forks of the River Parkway. Except as contained herein, the specifications or solutions for this RFP shall be those accepted guidelines set forth by the Fiber Optic Construction Services industry, as they are generally understood and accepted within that industry across the nation. Deviations from industry standards must be identified by the Offeror and explained how, in their opinion, the equipment/products and services they propose will render equivalent functionality, coverage, performance, and/or related services. Failure to detail all such deviations may comprise sufficient grounds for rejection of the entire proposal. SCOPE OF WORK o Locate and access existing fiber slack at Parkway and Prince Street and spice VIA DCAN 36 of the 48 fibers. o Install cable guards on utility poles where necessary. o Pull one pair of fibers into each traffic cabinet and terminate it with LC connections VIA spice tray. o Label and document fiber paths, vault entry points, and tracer wire endpoints. o Restore all disturbed areas, including sidewalks, roadway shoulders, landscaping, and pavement to original or better condition. o Coordinate traffic control, if required, in accordance with local DOT standards. o Adhere to all local and state permitting and utility marking requirements, including TN One Call. The project shall include all necessary equipment and materials for the installation of the singlemode fiber optic cables. o The design shall include provisions for splices, enclosures, terminations, and additional slack points at various locations to accommodate future traffic signal and facility build-outs. Additionally, the cable load bearing on utility polls may need to be determined where applicable. o The installation shall allow for termination into existing traffic cabinets which vary between the east and west sides of the roadways. o All materials and equipment shall meet or exceed the specifications provided in this bid package.
