Site work and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Omaha, Nebraska. Completed plans call for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; and for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
The anticipated work includes the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting the terminal building under construction to the existing parking garage and other miscellaneous work. Sealed bids are invited for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment and performing all necessary work for the construction of the OMA Pedestrian Bridge. Instructions specify that bid documents may be inspected at designated locations and obtained electronically by request. A non-mandatory prebid conference and site inspection is offered, with additional site inspections available by appointment. Bidders must provide a bid guaranty amounting to five percent of the total bid, and the successful bidder must furnish separate performance and payment bonds each equal to one hundred percent of the contract. Work will occur in security-controlled areas where supervisors must obtain appropriate Airport Identification Badges. The Omaha Airport Authority reserves the right to delay or cancel the bid opening, reject any and all bids, and waive any informality in received bids. Only prequalified bidders' bids will be opened. The successful bidder must also submit a Certification of Non-segregated Facilities, comply with Davis-Bacon Act wage requirements, and document good faith efforts for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation. Award of contract is subject to various federal provisions including Buy American Preference, Title VI Civil Rights Assurances, Foreign Trade Restriction, Affirmative Action, Government wide Debarment and Suspension, Drug-free Workplace, Lobbying and Influencing Federal Employees, and Procurement of Recovered Materials requirements. Pre-qualification requirements: Contractor must have more than five years of similar construction experience. A non-mandatory prebid conference for this project will be held on February 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Omaha Airport Authority offices, located at 1519 E. Hartman Court, Omaha, Nebraska, and will be followed by a site inspection. Additional site inspections may be arranged, but only by appointment before the visit.
