Sealed proposals are requested for the construction of park improvements for the Griggsville Community Park District. Plans, specifications, bid, contract documents, and bonds may be examined at MECO Engineering Co., Inc. offices in Pittsfield, IL and Hannibal, MO. Hard copy plans and specifications are available for a non-refundable fee, while digital copies are provided at no cost. Proposals must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check from an Illinois bank or trust company payable to the Griggsville Community Park District, or a bid bond from a licensed surety, in an amount not less than five percent of the total bid. The successful bidder will be required to execute the contract and file acceptable performance and payment bonds within fifteen days after the contract is awarded. All construction contracts are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Contracts are awarded based on competitive bidding to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The project may also use funds from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development (OSLAD) grant program. Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids and successful bidders are encouraged to utilize minority businesses as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. No bids may be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid receipt deadline.
