Demolition, site work, paving, new construction and addition to a mixed-use development in Norwalk, California. Completed plans call for the addition of a educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
This project will have an Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) established. Contractors submitting a bid for a category requiring prequalification, need to be prequalified as of the release of the bid. Below are the license requirements for the "Prime Contractor" per Bid Category: Category 01 - Site Demolition, Earthwork, and AC Paving: A or C22 Category 02 - Concrete: Structural and Site: C8 Category 03 - Plumbing and Site Utilities: C36 Category 04 - Electrical and Low Voltage: C10 Category 05 - Landscape & Irrigation: C27 Category 06 - General Package: B he Project consists of three (3) modular buildings, one (1) art shed, and five (5) PC approved shade structures with associated site work as further described in the bid and contract documents ("District Documents"). Bidders shall review the District Documents for more complete information regarding the Project and submission of bids. Attendance is mandatory for prime contractors bidding BC01 - Site Demolition, Earthwork, & Asphaltic Paving, BC03 - Site Utilities, and BC06 - General Package. Bidders for these Bid Categories are required to attend the entirety of one (1) of the two pre-bid meetings and job walks. Bids shall be valid for ninety (90) days after the Bid Deadline. Bids must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a bid bond in favor of the District in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted total bid price. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price in the manner described in the District Documents. Bidders shall comply with California Public Contract Code Section 4108 with respect to subcontractor bond requirements. Bidders shall possess one or more of the following California Contractor's license(s) at the time of the bid opening in order to perform the work for the Multiple Prime trades / Bid Categories of work and the license(s) required for a given Bid Category This Project is a public work for purposes of the California Labor Code, which requires payment of prevailing wages. District has obtained the general prevailing rates, which will be on file with the District's Construction Manager and will be available to any interested party. Attendance is mandatory for prime contractors bidding BC01 - Site Demolition, Earthwork, & Asphaltic Paving, BC03 - Site Utilities, and BC06 - General Package. Bidders for these Bid Categories are required to attend the entirety of one (1) of the two pre-bid meetings and job walks. Attendance is non-mandatory for prime contractors bidding BC02 - Concrete: Structural & Site, BC04 - Electrical & Low Voltage, and BC05 - Landscaping & Irrigation. Attendance by these bidders is strongly encouraged.
