The work includes the reconstruction of Swamp Road in the Town of Grant, Shawano County (approximately 4,775 feet) beginning approximately 600 feet east of the intersection of Swamp Road and NE 7th Street, extending to and including the intersection of W Rangeline Road. The work consists of reconstructing the existing roadway with three inches of asphalt, three-foot gravel shoulders, and reditching. Driveways within the right of way will be replaced. Cross culverts, storm sewer, and driveway culverts in poor condition will be assessed for replacement. It is anticipated that the dual concrete cross culverts near W12370 Swamp Road will not require replacement, but if so, will be replaced in kind. Instructions to bidders: No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the bid amount, payable to the Owner as a guarantee that the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after award. The certified check or bid bond will be returned upon signing the contract; if not signed within 15 days, the check or bond shall be forfeited as liquidated damages. No bid may be withdrawn within 60 days of the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or reject any or all bids. It is the intent of these specifications that the Owner be provided a complete project functioning as required and meeting the requisites of all applicable rules and regulations. The Contractor shall be responsible to comply with the intent of these specifications. B. The project is located on Swamp Road starting approximately 600 feet east of the intersection of Swamp Road and NE 7th Street and ending approximately 250 feet east of the intersection of W Rangeline Road. C. An additive alternate is included for pulverizing and overlaying Ridge Line Road north of the base bid project extents up to the driveway for N2639 Ridge Line Road. D. The work consists of, but is not limited to, street and utility reconstruction including removal of existing asphalt, unclassified excavation, gravel shoulders, reditching, culverts, asphalt pavement, driveways, and restoration.
