The work covered by this section consists of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment, and performing all work required for the prevention of environmental pollution and the handling, removal, transportation and disposal of any hazardous and/or regulated solid waste generated during and as the result of construction operations under this contract except for those measures set forth in other provisions of these specifications. For the purpose of this specification, environmental pollution is defined as the presence of chemical, physical, or biological elements or agents which adversely affect human health or welfare; unfavorably alter ecological balances of importance to man; or degrade the utility of the environment for esthetic and recreational purposes.
