Sealed bids are requested for the 2026 Asphalt Street Chip Sealing, ST 2603, for the City of Dodge City, Kansas. The project consists of chip and fog sealing asphalt streets in Dodge City. All bids must be submitted on forms available on the City of Dodge City’s website, under the Bid Posting link. The proposed contract documents, including specifications, information for bidders, bid proposal forms, and forms of contract, performance bond, and statutory bond, are also available on the city’s website. A copy of each addendum will be mailed or delivered to each person obtaining a set of contract documents from the Engineer. The Owner will not be responsible for any other explanations or interpretations of the proposed contract documents. All requests for interpretation shall be submitted to the Engineer by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19 th , 2026. Answers will be placed on the web site by 11:30 a.m. the following Friday. SCOPE OF WORK: The purpose of this project is to perform street sealing maintenance work on various streets in the City of Dodge City. Generally, the type and location of the work is as follows: 2.1 2026 ASPHALT STREET CHIP SEALING: This year’s chip sealing will take place in maintenance zone #1. Please see the attached map of maintenance zones for reference. Maintenance zone #1 encompasses the asphalt streets north of US-50 Highway. The Contractor will seal as many streets as the bid quantity will allow. A list of streets to be sealed will be provided prior to the start of the project. Concerning the streets that are to be sealed, the City has already repaired and sealed the large thermal cracks. The street will be swept and a single asphalt sealing surface treatment will be applied. All Bidders should note that the amount of work to be done, as listed on the Proposal, has been estimated based on estimated unit prices and the amount of money the City can spend on this effort. Award of the project will be determined by the amount of square yardage of sealing bid on the Proposal form.
