Box 68 Prince George, VA 23875 Prince George County, VA hereafter known as the "Owner," is soliciting competitive sealed bids from qualified and licensed contractors to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for the successful and complete construction of the Timber Pavilion at JEJ Moore Middle School. The design includes a concrete foundation, pressure treated timbers, premanufactured trusses, electrical, a roof system, lighting, and internet access for public use. The work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Contract documents, including all plans, specifications, drawings, general and special conditions, and any addenda issued during the bidding process. 4.1 Project Description The project involves the construction of a new 40' x 30' Timber Pavilion at JEJ Moore Middle School. The final structure must comply with all applicable Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Codes and local ordinances. 4.2 Contractor Responsibilities The successful contractor shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: o Obtaining all necessary permits and inspections from the City of Disputanta and the County of Prince George, VA. o Providing all materials which must meet or exceed the quality specified in the technical specifications. o Executing all work including site preparation, foundation work (e.g., concrete pad), structural framing (e.g., premanufactured trusses), roofing, electrical, lighting, internet access for public use and finish work as detailed in the plans. o Ensuring all work is performed by skilled workers in a professional and high-quality manner. o Managing all debris disposal and maintaining a clean and safe work site throughout the construction period.. o Warranting all materials and workmanship for a specified period as detailed in the general conditions of the contract. o Complying with all provisions of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and other applicable state laws. 4.3 Specific Work Details o Building size: 40' x 30' Timber pavilion. o Posts: 12' x 12' pressure-treated timbers. o Roofing: Shingle roof over asphalt with 40-year warranty. o Site work: This may include site clearing, grading, new concrete foundations or pads, utility trenches and the installation of ADA compliant access paths. Contractor is to replace any damage to right of way with no more than 1 acre of land in use during the entire project. o Finishing: Application of any required finishes such as paint or wood treatment. 4.4 Period of Performance Work shall commence within [e.g., ten (10)] calendar days after the date of the Notice to Proceed and shall be substantially complete by July 31, 2026. Bidders must provide a schedule with their Bid that details the work plan necessary to meet this deadline. 4.5 Breakdown of Total Cost When responding to solicitation Bidders must attach document listing an itemized breakdown of total cost.
